andy maybe only meeting his uncle a few times as a child, or maybe once a year -- i figure his mum may be from the north originally and so his auntie and uncle live close to where she did growing up. andy was born in the south which is where his dad is from. it'd be about 4 hours away from his auntie and uncle's hometown. so, i figure once or twice a year he would travel down with his mum and not his dad. it would be his favourite time of year. i think, actually, his uncle would have been a good role model for him, and was in a way, but they saw each other so rarely they never got that close. i think his uncle was a big gardener though. anyway, he dies, fairly young really, he would be in his 50s-early 60s by the time andy and his mum move in with auntie rosemary, so... rosemary would have been on her own for maybe a few years prior.
wait... so andy and family moved up north when he was... yeah about to start secondary school... this means either his uncle died even younger than i thought, or andy got a chance to get to know him better in his final few years. i mean, that is a nice thought. just makes me think, having not had him around much growing up, andy would probably feel pretty weird/sad about it when he dies. wondering how things might've been different if he'd had an adult in his life who was more supportive of his goals and how he generally is. his uncle would've been a very humble man i think, didn't do much too exciting, loved to garden. i can imagine rosemary saying how alike they are/were.
going back to my previous post, i feel like, going through his uncle's old stuff and trying on some of his clothes, there would be a moment where rosemary is like. wow. you look just like him when he was young. brb crying!!!

"quick thoughts". this one's actually quick. i saw a dude in a costa yesterday that was wearing the perfect howard joggers. like, straight leg, just pool a little at his feet. he had new balance trainers and a black hoodie also. you know. he looked EXACTLY like a young howard, around 18-19, in his buzzcut era, when he and andy first met. so cute lol.
