lavender marriage thoughts

hmmmmmmmmmmmm...... i've been watching a series called Bookish :) ... i don't remember if i posted about my character Lohit here before but i did decide a while back that he was in a lavender marriage, possibly arranged, not sure, to appease his parents, who im fairly sure live in India or otherwise not nearby? Anyway. Lohit is gay and has a long-term partner called Frazer. Lohit also has a wife. They possibly have a kid or kids. but it's hard to put the pieces together because i'm fairly sure they got married knowing Lohit was gay, and they wouldn't have wanted to conceive biological children.

so anyway, what happens in Bookish is (spoilers) (as if anyone's reading this) Mr. and Mrs. Book ... take in a young man.

it is discovered that he is Mrs. Book's son, whom she had with another man. the man in question was also gay and apparently in a relationship with Mr. Book. So i understand it to be like... well, there might be more episodes coming im not sure. or i forgot some details. but i guess Mrs. Book and the Dad conceived their son and then Mrs. Book later finds out the dad is gay. then the dad has to leave, dies, etc. I guess she mustve learned of Mr. Book beforehand or maybe already knew him before he was in a relationship with the dad. anyway these are mainly unnecessary details.

i like mr. and mrs. book cuz theyre shown multiple times sharing a bed, mr. book with an arm around mrs. book or similar, and they have real affection for each other. it's enough for them, usually.

mr. book and the son have a heart to heart, the son learns about his dad. crying happens.

i feel like i wanna take inspiration from this but i'm not sure how much. like... the way im thinking about it... idk like lohit's wife is probably straight, im leaning towards, but also not all that bothered. i think lohit isn't all that bothered either, and is happy with their arrangement. of course, then he meets Frazer, who he wasn't actively seeking out. but they met and im pretty sure it was like an immediate magnetism and Frazer is OUT, and camp, and quite forward cuz he doesn't have time for beating around the bush. but lohit has to explain about his wife. i think Frazer is really cool with it. in fact, i feel like they become good friends, and she likes seeing Lohit so excited.

i'm feeling like their child is an adult by the time he and Frazer meet. Lohit is a responsible and proud dad. he's prioritising stability while their kid is growing up. but i think he and frazer meet when theyre like, in their fifties lol.

whose the heck is the child, biologically speaking though? maybe he WASNT out when they got married, and it was much later. so his kid is his own blood. either that or she was with someone else before they got married, but didn't want to let her parents in on that fact either, so they raised the child as if lohit was the dad. it could make sense. then it works for both of them.

i do think lohit always loved and wanted kids of his own, so this works for him. i WILL give his wife a name lmao. but she's suuuper cool. i feel like she didnt bat an eyelid when lohit came out to her. he was probably a huge crying mess too. she was just like girl don't worry. i have a cunning plan.

anyway i think theyre like bffs right and i want them to have that bookish dynamic, legitimately have affection for each other, just not romantic of course. and i want frazer not to be a jealous weirdo about it either and not try to compete with her. lohit and frazer have what they have, and lohit and his wife have a child together and a long, long standing friendship. frazer's not trying to encroach on that. he's also very independent and not bothered about kids. probably gets on with their son well enough though, who i'm deciding knows everything and is cool with it. maybe he wasnt always. i dunno.

uhghghhhghghghhghghghghghhghghghgh i need to sleep
