Been thinking that probably when Yarrow meets this other sprite for the first time, the sprite has a child -- like not a baby but maybe like the equivalent of a preteen. Probably around Jesper's height but not as wide lol. And this is like ... The first time he's met a child sprite... So seeing them much smaller than himself is kind of wild and it also sets off something in his brain cuz I guess the idea of children has always been very theoretical to him. It probably comes up in conversation that day at the big fair, or afterwards, I dunno exactly when they get a chance to speak properly. But the other sprite maybe asks if he's planning on having children (which btw --- I guess they can have more than one? I dunno why I've never thought about it before lol) and he's just kinda like nah... Probably says something about his lil imp family in Jesper (who is probably there?) and the imps back home... But I guess it's felt so far away for him this is the first time he's seriously confronted it as a possibility. Anyway I think then he meets them the next year and they do have sex and, ok, if we were talking about humans it would be unlikely it works the first time but I can do whatever I want in terms of fertility windows and junk so I'm just gonna say it works and think about the details later lmao.
the other thing I keep thinking about is the actual giving birth and ... The other day I saw a video of a newborn kangaroo and lost my tiny mind
Anyway point being, sprite babies wouldn't be born THAT small relative to an adult sprite but I still do think they're smaller and less developed than a human baby and, sprites have facial features which are not really human looking. Like they look more like people than anything else, but I keep thinking of this lil guy coming out like a little puppy lol tiny pointed ears, smooth little low-profile facial features... It's hard to define how exactly a sprite does not look human in the face but I think the most definitive difference is the nose which I picture not being as pronounced or defined as human noses.

Also Yarrow having never seen a baby sprite !!! In his life adds to how much he'd be holding his own child and freaking the hell out not comprehending what he's even looking at...
further to this probably the other sprite would probably tell him the facts about pregnancy and childbirth for sprites which helps him a lot... I dunno if he ever talked to Yew about this. Much to think about.
also consider Woad as a name for Mayhaw's other parent. The aforementioned sprite. It's a plant with yellow flowers yet people make blue dye with it. And I was considering them having blue eyes. Idk how DNA works in this instance cuz I know it's not just like mixing paint lol but Mayhaw does happen to have crimson/fuchsia/raspberry kinda coloured eyes so that's kinda like blue and red...
