meeting other sprites + quick thought
Quick thought out of the way first. Saw hood with big horns... Wondered if Yarrow or other sprites or at least Yew for sure would wear 'horns', not real, to make themselves look more scary, defense mechanism. Also looks swag.
Secondly, we've spoken about Yarrow meeting another sprite. I don't know if this is The Sprite that he meets or if this is a different one cause I pictured it pretty different before. I had this image flash into my mind where he's visiting another town, maybe on his journey to visit Yew. To be honest it's literally only just occurred to me that he might stop at inns on his way there. I'm too Merlin-brained and only pictured him camping out in the woods lol. And the one time in the wizards house.
Anyway I envisioned a sprite who is sooo different to him and is actually pretty outgoing and gets on well with the townsfolk? Which he's. Halfway there himself but this one has a whole thing going. And he ends up spending some time with them, meeting the locals of this town who are like, wow ! Another sprite. And are really nice and kind to him.
Maybe the sprite lives in town, even. Maybe they live with a human family. Who knows ! Either way I think it makes Yarrow's tiny mind explode.
Yarrow of course would tell them about his own situation and have them be surprised too. Firstly I think this sprite has been more insistent about their gender being not of a man or woman and, maybe the townsfolk even use ey/em, which is crazy work for medieval times but then I think that they're like. Other and Ethereal enough that the humans are like ok makes sense. So the fact Yarrow just got assigned male by humans and he went with it was surprising. But it sorta makes sense cuz in my head this sprite looks really androgynous so it would come up.
And then there's the thing of living with a domestic imp and his other friends being wild imps lol. That feeling a little scandalous to him even cuz he doesn't know what his mother will think of it.
I assume this sprite's mother just was more open minded. And Yarrow learns it's not universal that sprites are scared of humans or vice versa. I imagine it sort of like being from a small town vs being from a big city in terms of. Being queer for one. That's just how it goes. Yarrow realises there's so much more to see in the world.
I don't think this sparks like a huge travelling spree cuz he has the forest to take care of and. He's a curious fella but he also loves his creature comforts. He does not have a good time camping out lmao.
I do actually think this is one of multiple sprites he might meet in his lifetime. Probably they have an honest conversation about offspring too. Hey wait.............

I'm an idiot and I just remembered seeing as sprites have male and female reproductive organs he literally could get another sprite pregnant so he wouldn't have to carry a child himself lol. Or raise them.... Which, I still don't know how he'd feel about it cuz he would never get to see his child. I don't think he has maternal feelings but then 🤔 I do sort of feel like that is one dimension of his relationship with Jesper. Either way he doesn't feel like he's lacking a child in his life nor does he think it's fair to bring one into the world to cure loneliness. I think that was something he thought about and decided on pre-Jesper.
But anyway I think he has complicated feelings about reproducing at all. I have a sort of inkling that it's a goal of this sprite's to have a child and they of course would ask Yarrow about it if so cuz. How often do you meet another sprite.
But I think there's a possibility that this isn't the only time they meet seeing as Yarrow could probably come back to this town. So he doesn't have to make that decision there and then.
Much to think about...
