sims 2 howdy lol
i started playing sims 2 again and i sent both my main guys to university lmao... canonically, only andy ever gets a degree, but he still lives with howard during that time. they rent a place privately. it made me wonder, though, cuz obviously in my sims game they both spend a good majority of their time studying and doing assignments. and there was an option to help each other with assignments too... when i saw that i thought. well howard couldn't really help andy with his plant biology degree lmao. but then i was like well, maybe!!! because like. andy has adhd although i don't think he's diagnosed at this point. but even so, it's extremely common that students struggle to keep up with their workload. and i was thinking. i bet howard helped him stay motivated lol. i don't know exactly how. some of it's probably just holding him accountable honestly. what's the uhh. there's a term. body doubling.
as well, andy struggles to read and process information -- what if howard literally reads the content to him lmao. well i don't think this would necessarily help. but a little back and forth maybe.
maybe it's more organic than i'm thinking. i do think that howard's curious about what andy is studying and asks about it a lot. and this gets andy to respond and verbally make sense of what he's been learning, which solidifies it in his head.
and, making sure andy takes breaks, especially when he's just sitting there rereading the same paragraph over and over. brings him hot beverages. let's go for a walk. let's sit outside for a bit.
maybe howard does his own stuff while they're "body doubling"? like, i dunno what, cuz he doesn't do much LOL no i mean his passion is cooking, i'm thinking of something more sedentary. he's not much of one to read. but he would read andy's whatever material and be like what does this mean lol. i don't know what he'd be purposely sat down at the table to do though. maybe he's doing some serious admin lol bills and such. i don't know. not that. i'll have to think. but maybe he's not doing that. maybe he's cooking, and they're just in the same room, and both concentrating and not talking to each other. either way it sure beats andy's first go at uni where he'd just sit alone in his little room and cry cuz he can't read lmao.
