yarrow's world

summing up some stuff and thoughts re yarrow species

hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Been having a lot of thoughts at work. I had it recently that Yarrow was some kind of a plant person, born from a plant. I kinda went off that idea but I still wanted him to be like, protector of the forest, ya know? But then this means there are probably other ones of him out there, unless he's some kind of, spirit, like a one-off... but then how did he come to be, and has he existed forever, and will he always exist. I think not.

I get the vibe that he's flesh and blood, was born and will die. So then I had to think about like, what his business downstairs is, and we talked about him maybe being intersex, which is a pretty cool thought. My (flimsy) logic is that as a species they would have evolved to be able to produce asexually because they live solitary lives and tend to live very far apart from each other -- as a species i think their whole deal is like, protecting nature. Maybe some live near lakes, some live near the ocean. Whatever their territory is, they protect.

I think they Can reproduce the "traditional" way, with a mate lol, but this is rare as many will never see another one in their lifetime. I also think they're pretty uninterested in the whole sex and romance thing as a species, but maybe there are exceptions. Yarrow is not one of them lol. Aroace icon :)

Since Yarrow and Jesper are both like, grey-skinned, black-haired, with some magical capabilities, possibly both have a tail (Jesper does, Yarrow maybe does but I need to Draw it out to see how I feel...), I also brought up the idea of them coming from a common ancestor, like, splitting into different species at some point in evolution... which I think is pretty neat.

It seems to, loosely, make enough sense that Yarrow's species could have evolved to be territorial and, that their natural habitat would be in a forest cuz it's abundant with the types of foods they eat (foraged fruits and vegetables), and they'd be an intelligent enough species to be somewhat on par with humans, because I said so. Like it's all made up at the end of the day but I think it's logical enough to be believable????

Back to the tail thing, I am leaning towards him having a tail cuz I feel like they'd do a lot of climbing trees to harvest fruit to eat. Also cuz it's kinda swag. I dunno what kind of tail. Historically in most of his earlier iterations he had a tail and I'm not really sure why or when I got rid of it. It always was like, long and had a little tuft of fur at the end, kinda like a lion. But, there was no fur up until the Tuft. Maybe more like a rat's tail. I like how rat tails have the light fuzzies on them. So like that, with a tuft on the end. Maybe. Gotta draw about it.
