yarrow: establishing the basics

of course im up typing about this stuff cuz i can't sleep lol. i was playing some stuff through my mind, starting with yarrow actually getting up in a morning, and what his day looks like. i pictured that his space is messy, and it's open-plan -- his bed is shoved into the corner of a small cottage. he rolls out of bed and i pictured him making some kind of, morning beverage, something coffee-esque. i imagine he takes it like. black, but sweet. i dunno. anyway, at some point little jesper comes alive, wakes up, not sure lmao, begins causing mischief. just everyday stuff, whatever that looks like.

i was picturing that someone knocks on yarrow's door -- he's known in these parts, and offers a service. he's a hemomancer or blood wizard, so i'm feeling like it's something to do with healing. like, blood, lifeforce, healing. i'm feeling like they have an injury or disease. i was thinking -- yarrow has fangs, but i don't see him needing to drink blood, and at least not exclusively blood. and i was thinking, what are the fangs for? and i feel like honestly, maybe he uses his own blood a lot in his work. maybe whatever creature he is, his blood has healing properties. so his fangs are like a built-in can opener ya know. probably his arms/hands are littered with little puncture wounds. or, not, because he's got that Healing Blood...

so anyway he hears a knock at the door and is like oh i wasn't ready for People today lol. he magics his bed to be Made just before opening the door. side note, i also decided his eyes are a little bit of a darker red but glow bright red when he does magic, a la Merlin. well merlin's eyes are just regular looking but flash bright yellow when he does magic.

opens door. here is where things get less clear... i imagine he's like uhh hi! not much else lmao. i think he's a little awkward but also doesn't care too much. i'm feeling a dylan keogh from casualty (my beloved). he's a little eccentric and people interpret him as blunt or rude sometimes but he's actually really kind and caring and finds people's criticisms of his behaviour confusing lmao. which, agreed cuz dylan is always right.

nah cuz i can imagine yarrow acting kind of incredulous a lot of the time when dealing with people like lmao... like someone will act affronted by something he said/did and he just stares at them like. ?. expectantly. he's not like, rude but i think sometimes he's just skipping social niceties that he's Probably aware of but finds them unnecessary to do his job. lol. he's staring at them like. wh. what? and they explain and he's like. oh. sorry? and then carries on like... ok that was weird... anyway...

umm and. i was also thinking about him going to the market and stuff with jesper. i was feeling like, the tinted glasses i gave him at one point. maybe i can give him some little sunnies cuz he's light sensitive. just for fun. theyre like probably rimless or would wire frames make more sense... anyway just simple circular/oval things.

i imagine he steps outside and it's too bright and he steps back in to grab his glasses. going to the market is sort of an ordeal, because there's all the people and the racket and the Sun. he goes out moreso during the late evening or nighttime or just to get stuff done without dealing with people. alas, the market is a daytime affair. and he really needs that (ingredient) for his (project).

i wonder if jesper might do any of the little tasks you know. i was just thinking about how in koisenu futari (my beloved) there's the time where takahashi has a bunch of coupons about to expire for all his favourite shops, so sakuko suggests they go and tackle half the shops each. takahashi explains what all the different coupons are for, like one of them's for a free tote bag and he tells her which design he wants to get, and then there's... some kind of snack, bun? thing? i forgot. but they could get like two free ones and he was like i want this flavour, and then pick one for yourself. and she gets two of the same flavour cuz she's curious about what takahashi's favourite tastes like. hehe. anyway, wondering if yarrow would give jesper some little stuff to get and it halves the time it takes to do the dreaded shopping... and tells jesper to get themselves a little treat too........... my heart. ok anyway. i don't know if this would work or no.
